The Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Commission of the Sisters of Saint Francis, Saint Joseph Province, Colorado Springs, is charged with researching and advising the membership on justice, peace, and environmental issues concerning areas that the province is or may be able to address. This includes, but is not limited to homelessness, racial prejudice, refugees and asylum seekers, human rights abuses, human trafficking, women’s rights, exploitation of children, domestic violence, the arms trade, the developing world debt, fair trade and the world of work and unemployment. One of its main objectives is to impact oppressive systems, and one of its principal functions is to educate themselves about particular issues. They accomplish this by consulting experts in the field in order to be able to guide and inspire the entire province on Franciscan peacemaking. The JPICC collaborates with many other Franciscan JPIC efforts, especially with Franciscans International and other justice and peace organizations. The Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation ministry uses the acronym PACE to describe its Franciscan commitment to PRAYER, ACTION, COLLABORATION, and EDUCATION. We welcome any input you wish to give us. Please contact us. carmela@stfrancis.org
